Minicars of Suzuki Motor Corporation, Suzuki Alto, Suzuki Alto Turbo RS and Suzuki Alto Lapin have won the Car 2015-2016 of the Year Japan Small Mobility Award, promoted Car of the Year Japan Executive Committee. Suzuki Alto, Suzuki Alto Turbo RS, and Suzuki Alto Lapin sold only in Japan.
The Small Mobility Award is a prize in the category which was established in 2013 minicars. This is the second time Suzuki has won an award from the Car of the Japan Year, after winning in 2013 Spacia and Spacia Custom minicars.
When winning a prize, all new Alto series and important comments from the Executive Committee said: “The series Alto as a value that has been pursued attraction that should be stored in a minicar, fundamental and outstanding performance. It uses a lot of which are worth paying attention to the technology including the newly platform developed, lightweight body, and smooth two-step AMT. Has
once more the benefits of minicars that are used as daily passengers”.
The all-new Alto series highly favored customers and accumulated sales volume of about 102,000 units. The Alto is Suzuki sold model with accumulated domestic sales volume from the original Alto in 1979 (including the Alto Lapin) radius of 5.58 million units in Japan.
Overview of the Car 2015-2016 of the Japan Year
All passenger cars with an annual sales volume of over 500 expected units, announced or launched in Japan between 1 October 2014 and 31 October, 2015 are eligible as candidates for the Car of the Japan Year. From candidates, three awards of Car of the Year Award Japan, Import Car of the Year Award, and category awards (Innovation Award, Emotional Award, Small and Mobility Award) decided.
