The Chrysler 200 is a mid-size car manufactured by the American manufacturer Chrysler, and is an example of a low-priced upscale “Chrysler” brand. The Chrysler 200 first appeared on a prototype hybrid car shown at the 2009 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, called the 200C. This example was based on the Chrysler 300. While Chrysler sales chief, Steven Landry, said it had been approved for production, after CEO Sergio Marchionne said it was not practical. Chrysler 200 First Generation (2010-2014)
The first generation Chrysler 200 is, in fact, restyled, and heavily facelifted third generation Chrysler Sebring produced since 2006. Chrysler 200 Second Generation (2015)
Sergio Marchionne announced that the first generation model will be short lived and the second generation model will appear in auto shows in January 2014. It will be based on the platform of the new Fiat-Chrysler Compact Wide, used Dodge Dart and 2014 Jeep.
On January 13, 2014 the 2015 Chrysler 200 was revealed to the public at the 2014 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Michigan. The Chrysler 200 is an all new car-based Compact US platform Chrysler’s Wide (CUSW).
