The 2020 Buick Enclave is a mid-size luxury SUV. The Buick Enclave 2020 comes with a long list of standard features, sophisticated in-car technology and a quiet, comfortable cabin that can seat up to seven passengers. 2020 Buick Enclave Essence is not quite as high as the eyebrows of its European luxury counterparts but offers a higher-looking feel than most family SUVs. This three-row full-sizer does not have the dice cut in its European rivals. Not the smallest set in the segment either. But if you appreciate the cozy freeway ride, the spacious and typical Buick signature interior, and the rugged feature list, it’s worth exploring the middle of Enclave FWD 2020.

The 2020 Enclave is also one of the most advanced SUVs in its class. Fold up the second and third-row seats and it gives almost 98 cubic feet of cargo space. It is a properly large space, even with the seats raised, passengers enjoy exceptional room for expansion and comfort.

Moving to Essence adds basic safety features, and improved cabin air filter, and leather upholstery.

Premium models add more safety features, such as automatic emergency braking and innovative GM safety alarm, as well as front door parking sensors, ventilated front seats, heated rear seats and a 10-speaker Bose sound system. Avenir models take the Enclave to the doorstep of luxury with its 20-inch rims, sunroof, premium leather upholstery, and navigation system among several other items. Options include adjustable suspension and adjustable cruise control.

2020 Buick Enclave Interior

The 2020 Buick Enclave has an interior wide open space with plenty of space for passengers in all three rows. We rate it 9 out of 10, which gives it points for the front, middle and third seats, its cargo capacity and above-average materials. It doesn’t seem like a luxury SUV, but it’s close. The Enclave 2020’s front seats have good support and are separated by a wide center console. Power adjustment is standard even with canvas trims fitted to base models. Leather and upholstered seats are optional, while the massive front seats are newly available from 2020.

The two rows have buckets that move back and forth, plus a good headroom, even on moonroof models. The passenger from the second row of the bucket forward for easy access to the third row. We want the same feature added to the bin with a second-row driver. When they return there, even adults will find decent space in the third row, though space is endangered.

2020 Buick Enclave Engine

The Enquela Buick 2020 is available in four designs: Preferred, Essence, Premium, and Avenir. They all use the same 3.6-liter V6 engine (310 horsepower, 266 lb-ft) and a nine-speed automatic transmission. Preferred is only available with front-wheel drive. The remaining moldings are available on the front or all-wheel drive. With front-wheel drive, the Enclave is rated at 18 mpg city, 26 freeways, 21 combined. Opt for all-wheel drive and it moves up to 17/25/20 mpg, which is towards the bottom of the class. The hybrid Acura MDX comes with 27 mpg combined, even non-hybrid rivals such as the Honda Pilot and Subaru Ascent rate between 22 and 23 mpg combined with all-wheel drive.

2020 Buick Enclave Safety

The Active safety technology, which should be standard frustrating by now, is an option in the Buick Enclave 2020. The Alliance measured and rated the Enclave a total of five stars, although four stars for the frontal collision and four in the calculated rollover risk assessment. IIHS did not test the enclave in 2020. Enclave 2020, a point for Buick’s frustrating insistence on establishing active security technology standards for rivals that cost half the more expensive options. Emergency automatic braking is now standard on Enclave Premium and 2020 Buick Enclave Avenir, but not available on preferred or Essence substrates.
