The Audi S5 is designed to straddle the line between sensual and refined track performance. Along with a powerful engine and a well-calibrated suspension, the Audi S5 also has a luxurious interior, a comfortable ride and a high level of refinement in general. Those seeking more power can opt for the wild, 450-hp Audi RS 5. For the previous model year, the S5 wins several new options in the form of a package of optical appearance Black, Audi side assist system safety and Audi drive select dynamic configuration.

The Audi S5 recently received a mid-cycle update that includes more angular headlights, a grill “single-frame” and a more aggressive front fascia. Taken together, the changes add more pop style to the already striking visual form of the S5. Power continues to come from a supercharged 3.0-liter V6 that produces 333 horsepower and 325 lb-ft. Buyers have the option of a six-speed manual transmission or a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic, both of which sends power to all four wheels via Quattro all-wheel-drive Audi. The sprint from zero mph to 60 in a claimed 4.9 seconds and fuel economy is rated at 17/26 for the manual and 18/28 for the automatic.

As with all “S” Audi S5 has a full complement of suspension modifications and interiors designed to impart a sportier look and feel. Models Bigger brakes and lowered suspension helps the hardened and Z-rated tires deliver power uprated to the street. The interior features pampering fit carbon fiber, special seats and a single wheel. Available equipment includes interface Audi’a MMI infotainment and Audi connect, which provides Internet connectivity to the automobile and the industry’s first integration of Google Earth – complete with panoramic, high-resolution 3D satellite views and images air.

The Audi S5 Coupe can be had in two trim levels Premium and Premium Plus. The Audi S5 Premium model comes standard with Nappa leather upholstery, heated front seats, an FM CD system with 10-speaker AM / SiriusXM Stereo with iPod integration, Bluetooth connectivity, and tri-zone automatic climate control, wheels eighteen-inches alloys, Xenon headlights,  fog lights and the LED taillights.

The Audi S5 Premium Plus setting adds a navigation system with Audi Connect a 12-speaker, 505-watt Bang & Olufsen sound system with relational technology HD, the Audi side assist and rear parking camera. Notable options include ventilated seats, adaptive cruise control and the differential performance-oriented Sport package with torque vectoring. Also available Audi Drive Select, which offers the wide range of suspension, steering, transmission and throttle calibrations. The optical package adds black exterior features Black 19 inch wheels and Rotor-design Titanium.

Audi S5 Safety

All Audi S5 models come standard with dual front side curtain airbags, front side, front knee, plus traction and stability control and a monitoring system for tire pressure. Optional on Prestige-Trim models is the Audi side assist, which monitors blind spots and the fast-approaching vehicles.

The aims between Audi S5 coupes with base engine competition and performance models. As such, its rivals are the BMW 435i, the Mercedes-Benz C350 Coupe and Infiniti G37.
