Unlike the A5 coupe, however, the A5 Cabriolet is not a manual six-speed transmission available. Instead, it offers a choice between a “Multitronic” CVT which returns an impressive number of 24 cities and 31 highways miles per gallon with a relatively quiet 7.2 seconds from zero to 60 times, or a little more Tiptronic eight sports spirit Automatic speed returns 20 city, 30 mpg highway and reached 6.7 seconds acceleration time. Unlike many competitors, the A5 Cabriolet features a lightweight, insulated cloth top rather than a coupe, hardtop folding heavy metal, but more. The top can be raised or lowered at speeds up to 31 mph, and a heating system at the head allows passengers to drive with the top down by less-than-ideal weather.
