2015 Audi A3
The 2015 Audi A3 is a compact four-door luxury sedan that seats five people. There is a level of main equipment, top quality can be improved with option packages Premium Plus and Prestige. The 2015 Audi A3 premium base trim levels come standard with 17-inch wheels, LED daytime running lights, the automatic wipers, automatic xenon headlights, cruise control, sunroof, power driver seat eight positions, a tilt and telescoping steering wheel, the leather upholstery, 60/40 split folding rear seats, Bluetooth phone and the audio connectivity, MMI electronic interface and a sound system with 10 speakers with a CD player, satellite and HD radio, and a slot for SD cards. The Cold Weather package adds heated front seats, side mirrors and the windshield washer nozzles seats. Eighteen-inch wheels and an interface for iPod are available separately.
The 2015 Audi A3 Premium Plus includes all these optional items as standard and adds key-less ignition and entry, climate control and dual-zone power passenger seat eight positions. Premium Convenience Plus Package adds power folding side mirrors, auto-dimming mirrors and interior ambient lighting. Also for Premium Plus package is a driver assistance system Blind Spot Monitoring adds a rear-view camera, sensors front and rear parking and an automatic parking system. 2015 Audi A3 Premium optional trim both is a navigation system, which also includes the larger display screen, a controller activates the improved feel, voice controls and a display board computer color. The Premium version automatically includes iPod interface, while Premium Plus version gets Audi connect.
The 2015 Audi A3 Prestige includes all previous optional equipment plus headlights, an “Audi S line” exterior appearance package and 14 speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system LED. Advanced Technology Package adds adaptive cruise control, the warning system and lane departure warning and forward collision braking system. Available in all 2015 Audi A3 are rear side airbags and a Sport package that adds sport front seats, steering wheel paddles and adjustable configurations known vehicles like unit selection.
2015 Audi A3 Interior
While the exterior 2015 Audi A3 is very similar to that of other Audis, the interior sets new course and leaves a lasting impression. While some prefer flashy booths decorated in strips of wood or metal, ultra-modern A3 is beautiful in its simplicity. However, when you look deeper beyond the broadest minimalist look, you begin to appreciate their quality materials and intricate details like their ornate vents, jet engine-inspired, switchgear finely crafted and action fluid from the MMI screen as it rises and drops again on the board.
Each 2015 Audi A3 includes the screen, but the size of the screen depends on whether you opt for the navigation. So, too, does the dial. No nav, it’s just a button. With it, there is a pad on the top that allows you to write letters with your finger to enter a destination. It’s great and it works. Regardless of the MMI version, however, controls for other systems, stereo audio and can take some getting used to, but eventually become second nature.
The space is likely to be a problem with the 2015 Audi A3. The front seat is mounted a little high and lacks lateral support, but a more important issue is the back seat. Though roomier than the back seat of a Mercedes CLA-Class, headroom and legroom are limited. You will find more space in compact cars like a Honda Civic, not to mention larger sedans entry level luxury as the BMW 320i. The buyer can find more trunk space in almost any car, as the small trunk of 10 cubic feet strives to accommodate a golf bag or the value of a weekend journey with four passengers.
2015 Audi A3 Engine
Every 2015 Audi A3 comes standard with an automated six-speed manual transmission and offers a choice of four-cylinder turbocharged 1.8 TFSI engine named, 2.0 TFSI and 2.0 TDI. The numbers indicate the engine displacement; letters indicate if it is powered by gasoline or diesel. The front-wheel-drive A3 1.8 TFSI produces 170 horsepower and 200 pound-feet of torque. Audi estimates that will go from zero to 60 mph in 7.2 seconds. The EPA estimates that returns 27 mpg combined (23 city / 33 highway).
The 2.0 TFSI produces 220 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque, and comes standard with AWD. In tests, 2015 Audi A3 2.0 TFSI accelerates from zero to 60 mph in 5.8 seconds fast. In essence, it gets the same fuel economy as the 1.8 TFSI, although the EPA classification of the city is actually greater than 24 miles per gallon. Official figures on TDI have not yet been released, but is expected to produce around 148 horsepower and 236 lb-ft of torque, and return about 35 mpg combined.
2015 Audi A3 Safety
Every 2015 Audi A3 comes standard with anti-lock brakes, front side airbags, traction and stability control, the front knee air-bags, full-length side curtain airbags and automatic belt tightening security and closing window in the event of a possible head-on collision. Rear side airbags are optional.
The 2015 Audi A3 Prestige Standard and optional on the Premium Plus package driver assistance system including the blind spot warning, rear view camera, front and rear parking sensors and an automatic parking system. Optional on Prestige is the Advanced Technology package that adds lane departure warning, forward collision warning and forward collision mitigation systems. In brake tests, tire one A3 2.0 TFSI with 17-inch wheels and all-season came to a stop from 60 mph in 118 feet – some better than average feet.
