2014 Audi A3
The 2014 Audi A3 is a compact four-door luxury sedan with seating for five people. There is one main trim levels, Premium, which can be enhanced with the Premium Plus and Prestige option packages. All 2014 Audi A3 versions can be equipped with your choice of four-cylinder engine, referred to by the 1.8 TFSI, the 2.0 TFSI and, later in the year, the 2.0 TDI. The 2014 Audi A3 base Premium trim level comes standard with 17-inch wheels, automatic xenon headlights, automatic wipers, LED daytime running light scruise control, a sunroof, eight-way power driver seat, a tilt- and steering-telescoping wheel, leather upholstery, 60/40 split-folding rear seats, Bluetooth phone and the audio connectivity, the MMI electronics interface and and a 10-speaker sound system with a CD player, satellite radio and HD, and Micro SD card slot. The Cold Weather package adds heated front seats, side mirrors and windshield washer nozzles. The 18-inches wheels and an iPod interface are available separately.
The Premium Plus all the food items as standard and adds key-less ignition and entry, the dual-zone climate control and an eight-way power passenger seat. The Premium Plus convenience package adds power-folding side mirrors, auto-dimming mirror and ambient interior lighting. Also for Premium Plus Driver Assistance package adds a blind-spot monitoring system, front and rear parking sensors and an automated parking system.
Premium picks on both trims is a navigation system, which also has a large screen display, an enhanced touch-controller, computer control and a color signal travel. The Premium version automatically with the iPod interface, while the Premium Plus version in the Audi Connect. The Prestige with all of the above options, plus LED headlights, “S line” exterior appearance package and a 14-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system. Advance Technology package adds adaptive control field, a Lane departure warning and a front collision warning system and braking system. Available on all A3s are rear side airbags and a sports package adds front sport seats, steering wheel, and the paddles adjustable system known as Drive Select.
2014 Audi A3 Interior
The 2014 Audi A3 exterior closely resembles that of other Audis, the interior with a new course and leaves a more lasting impression. As some may want flashier cabins adorned swaths of wood or metal, ultra-modern A3 is beautiful in its simplicity. But when you look deeper than its spacious, minimalist look, you begin to appreciate its top-notch materials and intricate details like its ornate, jet-engine-powered air vents, finely crafted switchgear and the fluid movement of the MMI display as it rises and lowers into the dash.
All 2014 Audi A3 with that screen, but its display size depending on whether you opt for the navigation. So, too, is the rotary controller. Without nav, it’s just a subject. With it, there is a pad on top that allows you to write with your finger when entering a destination. It is cool and it works. Without MMI version, however, controls for the stereo and other audio systems may take some time to get used to, but they eventually become second nature. Space is likely to be an issue with the 2014 Audi A3. The front seats are mounted a bit higher and no external support, but a more significant issue in the backseat. Even more spacious than the rear seat of a Mercedes CLA-Class, headroom and leg room are limited. You will have more compact cars as a political, let alone large entry-level luxury sedans like the BMW 320i.
2014 Audi A3 Engine
All 2014 Audi A3 comes standard with a six-speed automated manual transmission and offer a choice of four-cylinder turbocharged engine named 1.8 TFSI, 2.0 and 2.0 TFSI TDI. The numbers indicate engine displacement; letters indicate whether it’s powered by gasoline or diesel. The front-wheel-drive A3 1.8 TFSI to 170 horsepower and 200 pound-feet of torque. Audi estimates that it will go from zero to 60 mph in 7.2 seconds. The EPA estimates that it will return 27 mpg combined (23 city / 33).
The 2014 Audi A3 2.0 TFSI 220 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque, and comes with standard all-wheel drive. In testing, an A3 2.0 TFSI accelerated from zero to 60 mph in a quick 5.8 seconds. It is important that the same fuel economy as the 1.8 TFSI, the EPA city rating is actually higher at 24 mpg. Official figures on the TDI has not yet been released, but it is expected to produce about 148 hp and 236 lb-ft of torque, and returns around 35 mpg combined.
2014 Audi A3 Safety
All 2014 Audi A3 with standard anti-lock brakes, and stability traction control, front side airbags, front knee airbags, full-length side curtain air-bags and the automatic window and seat-belt tightening other (Audi Pre-World) is a great maximum frontal accident. Rear side airbags are cheating.
Standard with the prestige and cheating on the Premium Plus Driver Assistance package, which includes the blind-spot warning system, front and rear parking sensors, and an automated parking system. Cheating on the prestige of Advance Technology package adds Lane-departure warning, front collision warning and frontal accident mitigation systems. In brake testing, 2014 Audi A3 2.0 TFSI along the 17-inch wheels and all-season tires came to a stop from 60 mph in 118 feet – a little better than average.
