Alfa Romeo MiTo
The Alfa Romeo MiTo is a luxury segment car three doors officially unveiled June 19, 2008 , at Castello Sforzesco in Milan, with an international launch of the British Motor Show in 2008. The car was available in major world markets Alfa in stages from July. The three-door hatchback is front-wheel drive and will be sold to compete with the MINI and Audi new A1.Designed by the Centro Stile Alfa Romeo , the design is supposed to be inspired by the 8C Competizione. The MiTo is built on Fiat Small platform used on Fiat Grande Punto , also employed by the Opel / Vauxhall Corsa D.
The car has a new “Alfa DNA” , which allows the driver to choose between three different driving settings i.e Dynamic , Normal and All -Weather. This system controls the behavior of engine, brakes, steering, suspension and gearbox. The MiTo also features LED taillights and 250 liters of luggage. The MiTo also features a Q2 electronic differential on the front wheels , which is activated by the switch of the DNA in the dynamic position and allows turning faster and stronger without losing traction.
Alfa Romeo MiTo GTA Concept
The Alfa Romeo GTA, the sportiest version of the MiTo was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2009 as a prototype. The concept is powered by a 1.75 -liter turbo direct injection and variable valve timing for the inlet and outlet. The choice of engine size is important because the DOHC inline 4-cylinder 1750 was the largest available in Alfa Romeo for many years and therefore attractive to Alfisti. Maximum power is estimated at 240 hp. MiTo GTA Concept has a top speed of 250 mph and acceleration from zero to 100 km / h in 5 seconds. The weight has been reduced by GTA use carbon fiber for the part of the tailgate and the roof panel and mirror fairings. Aluminum is also used to reduce weight. The suspension is lowered by 20 mm on the standard car , and the vehicle has an active suspension.
Alfa Romeo MiTo Engines
At the launch of the MiTo will feature small-displacement turbocharged gasoline and diesel engines. In addition, a limited number of 79 hp variant naturally aspirated engine power is produced to meet the new Italian legislation for young people. MiTo Multiair engine has a new control system valves electro – hydraulic September 2009. In October 2009 unveiled a dual fuel MiTo version of this version can not run on LPG or petrol, with this engine MiTo has a range of 1200 km. The LPG version is in collaboration with Landi Renzo.
