The Acura SLX was an SUV of medium size (SUV) sold by the Honda Acura division from 1996 to 1999 and released a slightly upgraded Isuzu Trooper while the Lexus LX 450 and only sold in the United States. The Acura SLX was later replaced by the Acura MDX based Honda Odyssey in 2001.

The Acura SLX received a frontal redesigned for the 1998 model year, but its continued to sell poorly and was ultimately suspended, after 1999, it is said that sales were affected by bad press when the Model 1996 is rated to 1997 “No Acceptable “by Consumer Reports for their tendency to roll over during testing.

In a lawsuit brought by the Isuzu against Consumers Union, the court found that some of the statements of the magazine showed a “reckless disregard” for the truth. The Acura SLX 1996-1997 had a gasoline engine 3.2-liter V6 with a maximum power of 190 hp (142 kW) and was replaced in 1998 by a dual overhead cam 3.5-liter V6 that produces 215 horsepower (160 kW).
