Toyota to Announce New Details of Artificial Intelligence Research at Consumer Electronics Show. Draft Convention will also showcase Toyota’s next-generation connected for vehicles. Torrance, Calif (Dec 9, 2015). Toyota will announce the details of its new programs leveraging artificial intelligence research at the 2016 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Nevada.
On Tuesday, January 5, 2016, the company will hold a press conference at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center featuring Dr. Gill Pratt, Toyota Executive Technical Advisor and Chief Executive Officer of the Toyota Research Institute (Tri), and other Tri senior leaders.
First announced at a press conference in November, Toyota Research Institute (Tri) is a research and development enterprise focused on artificial intelligence for vehicles, robots, and scientific discovery. Funded by an initial commitment of $1 billion over five years, Tri will help close the gap between basic research and product development.
Separately, CES 2016 will also showcase the outline Toyota’s next-generation connected for vehicle and telematics systems. In addition to the press conference, Dr. Pratt, senior tri, and other Toyota executives will be available for select one-on-one media and Roundtable discussions at the meeting.
