The Cadillac Escalade Hybrid Launched in August 2008 as a 2009 model, the hybrid sport utility vehicle Cadillac Escalade Hybrid is unquestionably blingiest the world. The Cadillac Escalade Hybrid is nearly 17 meters long, weighs more than three tons and earns a fuel economy EPA in the low 20 mpg. That’s not what most people think of when they hear “hybrid”. However, 20 mpg city of big Caddy is the same mileage in town as a crossover Toyota Venza with all wheels powered by a four-cylinder 2.7-liter mated to an automatic transmission. On the road the Venza not go farther on a gallon, but the Escalade Hybrid manages to push his huge outside through the air at a speed of 23 miles per gallon.

Cadillac Escalade Hybrid Powertrain

The Cadillac Escalade Hybrid shares the same hybrid system found in the Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon Hybrid SUVs from all based on the same platform and have the same powertrain. The hybrid hardware combines a modified 6.0-liter 332 horsepower V8 petrol, a nickel-metal hydride battery of 300 volts and an electrically variable transmission (EVT). The transmission consists of two 60 kW (80 hp) electric motors, three planetary gearsets and the four fixed gears that use the same space as the six-speed automatic transmission GM. In essence, the EVT has two driving modes – hence the name “two-mode hybrid.”

The magic of the two-mode hybrid system is that the hybrid system itself generates the electric power used to propel the vehicle. When regenerative braking or coasting vehicle are applied, the electric motors within the hybrid system create electricity that is stored in the battery. This stored energy is then used to move the vehicle, and the cycle is repeated continuously to increase fuel economy.

During low speed, driving under impact, the powertrain operates like other hybrids; the V8 engine stops whenever possible so that it can extract energy from one or both of the electric motors. With one foot on the pedal deft movement, the large SUV can travel on electric power for about two miles at up to 35 mph. The second mode is primarily for highway driving, at one or both electric motors can run concurrently with the gas engine to provide a boost of energy. The transmission of two ways try to keep the engine running at optimum speed for low fuel consumption. In essence, a balance between the V8 engine and electric motors is achieved. It is also responsible for making the transitions between the two modes virtually seamless.

Mode two is not only fuel the Cadillac Escalade. The V8 engine uses cylinder deactivation technology (known as Active Fuel Management GM). Four-cylinder V8 can take a break and the engine can operate on a V4 economic mode of about 40 mph to about 70 mph. Mastering this technique along with the characteristics of the two phases, and the fuel tank of 26 gallons will allow you to browse over 500 miles on unleaded gasoline. It’s not as dramatic in the fuel as cylinder deactivation, an electric drive, power steering system 42 volt variable-assist offers improved fuel economy up to 0.5 miles per gallon compared with common hydraulic systems belt driven. Hey, here 0.5 mpg, 0.5 mpg there, it all adds up.

Cadillac Escalade Hybrid Exterior and interior

Like their cousins hybrid Tahoe and Yukon, Escalade style dates back to 2007 but has aged much better. Up front, the multi-faceted chrome grille, inspired by the Cadillac Sixteen car show 2003, is so overwhelming that the large headlights barely noticeable. Covered with chrome trim and rolling on alloy wheels 22-inch chromed aluminum, the Escalade Hybrid still looks fresh and commands the same attention and esteem it did when inserted.

Unlike the Tahoe Hybrid is based on the Cadillac Escalade does not take extreme measures to reduce weight and increase mileage. The front spoiler is subtly different, but no other aerodynamic changes or massive reductions. It even has the Escalade roof. There is a slight difference between the standard hybrid model base and Premium edition. The Premium has a unique front fascia with upper and lower grilles and design multi-spoke wheels.

Inside the Cadillac Escalade Hybrid gasoline imitates his brother, which means seven or eight people can travel in comfort leather lined. Passengers in the second row are almost as luxurious as the front. Heated leather seats are standard, leather, heated bench of three people is a no-cost option. Not only are they comfortable second-row seats also feature audio controls and individual climate. The Cadillac Escalade Hybrid driver and the passenger seat ride high, but the script is placed under, providing a comprehensive view of the large windshield. A panel of different instruments is a defining attribute of the interior. Includes indicators with white needles and blue light inlays with continuously lit, white LED backlight.

There are some specific hybrid characteristics. The instrument panel adds an additional indicator that monitors the efficiency of the vehicle and the instrument panel has some hybrid graphics. In addition, the screen standard navigation system can display a graphic diagram of the hybrid system and its operation.

Basically, the hybrid version of this great SUV is a full option package which incorporates a number of options that offers the lowest Escalade. Besides these chromed aluminum wheels including 22 inch standard are remote start, heated and cooled front seats – all rows are leather – Bluetooth, USB / iPod port and an audio system AM / FM / XM / CD Bose with MP3 capability. Phew. The fc Escalade Hybrid – Exterior and Interiorstandard features include a security camera, power liftgate, and a system for blind spot detection on each side mirror. All this is, this is a large mass of luxury set in what is, ultimately, a very large truck built on a pickup truck chassis. But wait, there’s more.

The Cadillac Escalade Hybrid Platinum Edition adds LED headlights, the upgraded leather with French stitching, heated and cup holders and front headrest DVD screens doubles with rear entertainment system with a total of three LCD screens cools. About Platinum edition, Motor Trend said, “The wood inlay worthy of a cabinet of Louis XIV and French-stitched leather throughout the cabin make this better finish in an SUV in terms’m concerned.”

For its size, the rear cargo area behind the third row is good,, insignificant 16.9 cubic feet – enough room for a small grocery business, but not much more. For additional space, the backs of the seats in the third row can be folded, but this does not produce a flat surface. The next step is dropping the Cadillac Escalade Hybrid front seats and the seats of the second row.
